About the St. Lawrence District: The St. Lawrence District is made up of 35 chartered congregations belonging to the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations. The congregations are located in upstate New York and northern Pennsylvania. The District's mission is to "Serve, Connect and Grow our congregations as we continually strive to Widen and Deepen the experience and impact of Unitarian Universalism." This mission is a key part of the 5-year Long Range Plan of the District that was overwhelmingly adopted by delegates at our District Assembly in April 2010. The Board of Trustees is comprised of eight people: six Trustees, one Youth Trustee and one District UUA Trustee. Additional staff consists of a part-time Administrator, part-time Lifespan Faith Development Consultant and several adjunct consultants.
About the UUA and the Central East Region: The Unitarian Universalist Association is an historic, progressive, religious denomination headquartered on Boston's Beacon Hill. Our faith community of more than 1,000 self-governing congregations brings to the world a vision of religious freedom, tolerance, and social justice. The Central East Region consists of the Joseph Priestley District, the Metro New York District, the Ohio-Meadville District, and the St. Lawrence District. The four districts have almost 200 congregations among them. This position is part of a new shared staff arrangement between the four districts. We pay an 80% contribution towards health insurance premiums, 11% towards retirement (after 1 year), and have generous paid time-off policies. We are a great place to work and are seeking to increase the diversity of our staff. The UUA is an Equal Opportunity Employer. For more information on the UUA, visit us online at UUA.org.
